Maggie Rogers returns with the Slight and Strong, Don’t Forget Me
By Rob Hinkal
Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Maggie Rogers’s newest release, Don’t Forget Me, embraces a quiet, contemplative sound, intertwining soft-rock, Americana, and country into a comfortable, and reliably strong mix of tracks. Recorded over the span of five days, it could easily be said that Don’t Forget Me stands as a showcase for Rogers’s abilities as both a songwriter and vocalist, especially given the high caliber of the tracks presented here, with the clear standouts being the introspective piano ballad, I Still Do, and the equally strong, So Sick of Waiting. Whether you’re already a fan of Rogers’ music or have yet to encounter any of her songs, Don’t Forget Me serves as a great entry point into her world, and easily stands toe-to-toe with her previous releases.
