Paris Paloma Charms Columbus On A Packed Evening of Entertainment
Review and Photos by Laura Cameron
It’s a busy night tonight in Columbus. Up the street, Twenty One Pilots are playing the biggest show of their career at Ohio Stadium. At Kimba Live, the crowd braves the cold in flowing dresses and flower crowns to see Paris Paloma.
First up was Susannah Joffe. Originally from Texas, she currently resides in New York. She released her debut album Dust Settles and So Will I at the end of September. Also, she did a vinyl/cd signing earlier in the day at Spoonful Records nearby. She was an excellent opener – a fantastic voice, and a great presence. After thanking the crowd, she ended the set with an unreleased extended version of her song Die Your Daughter. Someone with a bright future ahead.

Then, was Paris Paloma. She released her second album The Fatal Flaw which came out in September 2026. Paris Paloma has had a busy year. Earlier this year, she supported one of her influences – Florence and the Machine on the Everybody Scream UK and European Leg. This summer, she played festivals in the United Kingdom and Europe. She talked about how she hates the rise of Generative A.I and gave a shout out to another creative – Hayao Miyazaki. After the third song, she admitted she was having some trouble with her in-ear monitors and wanted to hear the audience as well. Sadly, we did have some tech issues throughout the night. She did make sure everyone running lights and sound as well as her band were mentioned. The unsung heroes of live entertainment.

She addressed the audience multiple times throughout the night about her love of art (Rothko, Pre Ralpherite) As well as discussing about tonic masculinity through her songs. The highlight being Pyrrhus (you go where I cannot.) She wrote from the perspective of Pyrisious’s mother. Pyrisious is one of the characters in The Iliad. Ending with her viral hit – labor to leave us on a high and to send us off into the cold night. I found the songs from The Final Flaw much richer live despite the tech issues, can’t wait to see what’s to come.
